The True Friendship Test...
Friendship isn't a big thing - its a million little things.
I have always been friends with everybody in the class. I always had casual talks with people in the class and sometimes used to flirt with the girls too (yeah, I flirt too)... This was probably the reason few girls started calling me Johnny Bravo... But today, this article is about boys (and i am not talking about flirting because i am not gay)...
It is an incident that dates back to the mid of class 9th (I am in class 10th right now)... This is about 6-7 months ago... Our class was the last class in the corridor, and it had high windows... This was the recipe to mayhem... The spice to this recipe was that it was break time at that moment... Some of us boys stood up on the table, to look out of that high window... Now, I don't clearly remember what and who forced me or caused me to do it, but i jumped from the table to run behind someone... Now since i wore low waist pants (and was called a low waist tuchha by friends) my pants tore!!!
Highly embarrassing as this was, there were girls in the room too... While people laughed initially, others offered help by giving me newspapers to wrap around me (now you can imagine the magnitude)... The only solution to this was to go and take a pant from the shop... Since I am a huge guy, it was doubtful if my size would be available right away...
Somehow, and first time thanks to my laziness, my shorts, which i now wear for night suit, rather i am wearing them now, they were there in the class cupboard... This was because Pancham had once visited my home and taken that huge short to wear... While Prakhar, Akshit, Param and Rohan were helping me change by either standing around me or by sending girls outside, others, that is, Sidhhant, Pancham, Sanchit, and Amandeep were making fun out of my pants, which they had now turned from one pant of two legs to two pants of one leg...
This is what my article is about... Their friendship... It was at the time I was in a problem, rather a crisis, that Prakhar, Akshit, Param and Rohan who helped me from embarrassment... All of these people were ones whom i had known( i repeat, known, not befriended that much ) for just 6 months ( except for Param who was with me in class 5 and Prakhar who had gone with me to France ).. On the other hand, Siddhant, Pancham, Sanchit and Amandeep were there, of whom Siddhant and Pancham had been my friends for 3 and a half years... I didn’t have any complaints from Sanchit and Amandeep because I wouldn’t expect them to help me...
This is where i would like to refer to my quote above...
“Friendship isn't a big thing - its a million little things."
It was this little thing i would have expected them to do...There is another quote I would like to refer to...
“A friend in need is a friend indeed"
They weren't friends at the time I needed them...
It was from this day on that i had made it a target that i would develop my friendship in those who really are true friends...
But I still gave a chance to everyone... Not everyone improved... And now I have better friends... TRUE friends...
